Sensory Environment Assessment

Sensory Environment Assessment

An in-depth evaluation of commercial, institutional, and public environments to identify opportunities for more comfortable, accessible, and neuroinclusive experiences.

Rather than focusing on individual problems, the assessment systematically maps how spatial, sensory, and operational conditions affect comfort, access, and daily functioning. Schools, workplaces, healthcare settings, transportation hubs, and community spaces all receive site-specific recommendations, and the drawings and reports become the foundation for future architectural, design, or construction work.

What is included

  • Environmental evaluation: lighting, acoustics, ventilation, thermal comfort, building systems, accessibility, adaptability, and code considerations
  • Neuro-inclusive recommendations for the diverse needs of neurodivergent individuals, including autism and ADHD
  • User experience analysis identifying barriers to comfort, focus, safety, and regulation
  • Site-specific solutions tailored to programming, occupants, and operations
  • Drawings and reports usable as guidelines for future projects

Who this is for

  • Schools and educational programs serving neurodivergent students
  • Workplaces, healthcare facilities, and community organizations
  • Transit operators and civic institutions adding sensory rooms and calm zones
